May 11, 2019

How many times have you had to send highly personal, confidential information via open, unsecured email? Just think, you send an email with confidential information and some unknown reader intercepts your message and commandeers the information in your previously confidential email for their own use.

Firefox Send (https://send.firefox.com) is a new service from Mozilla, the creators of the Firefox browser. It allows you share files with end-to-end encryption and a link that automatically expires.

The key points of this service –

  •     It is free

  •    It allows files up to 1gb in size

  •    If you get a free account, then you are allowed up to a file size of 2.5gb

  •    All files uploaded to Mozilla's servers are encrypted

  •    Users can upload one or many files at a time

  •    Multiple files are automatically assembled into ome large Zip file

  •    A limit can be set to many times the file is downloaded

  •    You can set a time limit before the file is deleted

  •    You can create a password of your own choice for file access.

Once you go through the file upload and options setting process, then you will get a link to send to the recipient to download the file.
